Do you want to learn how to make over furniture? Have a piece of furniture sitting around you have been dying to paint but not sure where to start? GET READY and JOIN IN in this furniture painting basics workshop where you bring in your own furniture and I will work with you to make it over while I teach you how to do it! This is a VERY UNIQUE WORKSHOP where you can leave your piece in the studio and work on it over 5 workshop sessions with pro painter Susie Myres teaching you and guiding you through the entire process of proper furniture painting. For less than the cost of having your furniture custom painted, you can learn to do it yourself with me helping you the entire way! Your ticket gets you all the instruction  you will need to transform your piece and learn the basics of painting to start you on the path of transforming anything you can imagine!  AND. it's like private instruction because you work out your workshop dates with the instructor!

No experience necessary! Beginners and advanced users welcomed in this SMALL CLASS, with limited space to ensure high levels of instruction and attention. Learn to clean, prep, sand, properly paint and seal furniture for a long lasting professional finish. 

PIECES MUST BE REASONABLE SIZE TO ENSURE IT CAN BE REFINISHED IN THE AVAILABLE SPACE & TIME AVAILABLE. CONSULT WITH THE INSTRUCTOR TO ENSURE YOUR PIECE WILL WORK WITH THIS WORKSHOP.

All items must be approved by the class instructor prior to bringing to class.  

This class will cover the following topics:

* Choosing the right furniture piece to paint

* The basic tools and supplies you will need

* Helping you prep your piece and planning your finished look

* Hands-On painting and fundamentals

* Painting tricks and tips 

* Sealing options for lasting durability

* Special artistic finishes 

Class includes use of instructor's brushes, primer, sanding supplies and sealers. PAINT AND SPECIAL FINISH PRODUCTS / WAX/ TRANSFERS ETC ARE AVAILABLE BUT  NOT INCLUDED IN CLASS PRICE. However, A VARIETY OF PAINTS and supplies are available for purchase and I will help you determine the right paints and supplies to use.  It is recommended to confer with the instructor to ensure the chosen paint will work well for the class. ALL STUDENTS OF THIS CLASS GET 25% OFF IN-STOCK PAINTS TOO.

Some Important Things To Know:

What can I bring into the class?

You will need to bring in your  piece to paint. It must be approved by the instructor.  Dining room tables will not work due to the sanding requirements for refinishing table tops. But if you want to learn bare wood look techniques, you can bring flat top dressers or console tables to sand and learn on.  

You may bring your favorite paint or beverage and snacks. No hard liquor please. We will be serving light appetizers and refreshments 

Do I need to bring any tools or supplies?

All tools and non-paint supplies for this class will be provided for the students. Paint must be purchased  OR BROUGHT TO CLASS

Should I wear special clothing for painting?

That's up to you. Full bib aprons will be provided, however there WILL be creativity and PAINT is involved.

Can I cancel? What's the refund policy?

We get it, life happens and you may need to reschedule. We will be fully preparing for all students so there are no refunds, but if you need to cancel, your registration can be applied toward any other class.
